I would like to thank you very much for what you have done with both Elise and Lachlan, especially Elise. Both Natalie and myself were at our wits end with where she was headed academically. You were correct in saying that parents can not teach their children! She is now a completely changed child when it comes to learning as you probably see on a weekly basis. She actually now enjoys doing schoolwork and reading which she didn't before, her maths however is still very much a work in progress, perhaps we focus on that in times to come? I don't know if you get many thanks from parents but I would like to say thanks to you. Elise and Lachlan and probably Oliver in time will continue to attend Smart Achievers so from time to time we will still catch up.

Tyler commenced tutoring as he was failing the weekly spelling tests at school, usually scoring about 3 out of 25. Initial testing showed that he was well below the expected level. Even though he was in Year 4, he had gaps as far back as Year 1. Tyler brought in his weekly spelling lists from school, and we teach him explicitly on the phonics and rules related to the list. Today Tyler is scoring perfect or close to perfect, in hisclass spelling tests. We are closing the gaps quickly and aim to have Tyler moving into high school being able to read and write efficiently. Recently, when I praised Tyler for his incredible improvement in spelling, he commented ‘It just seems to seep into my head!’

Cormac has surprisingly learned his tables - he said that Thomas and Laurence give him a 5 min test at the start of each lesson and somehow or other they have inspired him to actually learn them!! I'm so grateful - thank you and thanks to them!

Frazer asked me to let you know that he achieved a B grade for English in his Year 7 Semester 1 report. This is the highest grade he has ever achieved in English so he is feeling pleased with himself and he feels that the work he did with you made a difference. Thank you for giving Frazer his confidence back, a very precious gift which made all the difference in his ability to achieve. He is enjoying high school and along with that B for English he also had 5 A grades for his other subjects including Extension Maths! I have recommended your services to a number of people. I wish you and your fabulous team all the best. Tracey Sutherland Merredin
