Nicole Collier

I was born in Peru and did my schooling at international schools in Peru and Chile. I completed my Bachelor of Arts majoring in English Literature at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and then a Graduate Diploma of Education at UWA.

I started working here at Smart Achievers in 2016 and have loved helping students achieve their goals. Julie has taught me a great deal about spelling and I’ve relished teaching it to my students and expanding upon it by helping Julie write the Smart Words spelling books. I’ve also grown increasingly interested in teaching grammar and observing how increasing students’ knowledge of it boosts their writing.

The fundamental skills of spelling and grammar build to my primary interest: helping students find their writing voice. Writing is a complex skill and I love the challenge of carefully selecting the specific stepping stones each individual student needs to develop a personal writing style that is notable for its clarity, academically effective and rich in precise, engaging language.

If you have any grammar and writing questions, I’d love to hear from you!
